Luxury night moisturiser from scratch

The luxury night moisturiser I wanted to tell you about is 100% natural, lovely and very moisturising. It takes time to soak in and therefore I use it as my night cream. It’s a nice thought that after washing my face in the evening, my clean skin absorbs all the goodness while resting and regenerating overnight. After having a few drops of lovely oils left over from my other experiments, I decided to recycle them and make something lush and beautiful. So I whipped a little bit of Shea Butter and folded in the left over oils. Lovely result! You can use different oil variations and add essential oils if you wish. I literally just had a few drops of these oils: 5g Argan Oil 6g Rosehip Oil 4g Watermelon Seed Oil 4g Macadamia Nut Oil 5g Red Raspberry Seed Oil To make 100g of the cream, just add 76g of Shea Butter. It’s soft and easily manageable. Slightly melt the butter. Start whipping until soft and creamy. Add the oils. One by one. Fold in a …

Creamy coffee body scrub

Do you make your own body scrubs or buy them? Which one is your favourite, oily or creamy? This morning, as I was enjoying my morning coffee I thought of what a waste it would be to throw away these lovely coffee grains. And so I recycled them into a creamy ice cream like body scrub. Here is how you can make it at home, it’s easy and quick! 30g Shea butter 15g coconut butter 1 tbs of  honey 2 tsp coffee grains Method. In a stainless steel bowl, mix the butters and immerse the bowl in a pan of hot water.  Heat it up slightly to soften the butters. Take out the bowl from the saucepan and whisk the butters. Whisk them until the mixture gets light and fluffy and then add a generous spoon of honey! Continue whisking until the mixture becomes soft and creamy. Fold in the coffee grains. Once you combined all the ingredients, pour the mixture into a pot. Make sure you treat your feet well with this scrub, it will leave them baby soft! Be careful, this scrub, just like any other scrubs, …

Whipped shea & avocado body butter

You know when you are so excited about something that you  just can’t sit still!? I felt like this yesterday when I checked my butter supplies. Not much left… what could I do to use them up? There is no way I am wasting even one bit! And then… ding dong! Why don’t I mix these butters up and whip myself a nice body cream! I felt like I was creating an explosion of skincare goodness! The cream making process was so enjoyable and seeing the butters becoming soft and fluffy was a very happy moment! You can whip shea butter on its own and it already makes a lovely body cream without any additions, but for someone like me, additives are very important! I want things to be as lush and luxurious as possible! 50g Shea butter 25g avocado butter 25ml kukui nut oil In a bowl, warm the butters slightly just to soften them. Measure carefully and add the oils. With a hand held whisk, beat the butter until soft and fluffy. You can add a few drops of your favourite essential oil. Gorgeous!
