DIY dry shampoo

Everyone has a ‘dry shampoo’ in their kitchen cupboard, just not everyone knows about it! So next time, instead of buying one, try using flour. You’ll be surprised how well it works. And this trick is not something new, women have been using flour for ages to mask unwashed hair. I use flour from time to time and it really works.

It especially helps when you overslept or stayed over at your friend’s, but have to rush to work and just don’t have the time to wash your hair.

How it works? Well, it can’t be any simpler. All you need to do is dust your palms with a pinch of flour and work it into your scalp. Clap your hands to get rid of extra flour if you think you grabbed too much. Repeat it a couple of time depending on the thickness of your hair. I repeat 2-3 times.

You can also use your cosmetic brush. Dip it into the flour, gently shake to remove excess flour and carefully work it into your scalp. Comb your hair and go.

Don’t worry, the flour won’t be visible in your hair, unless you overdo it. It will absorb the oils and leave your hair looking fresh, no one will ever notice! And it lasts all day.

If you like, add a drop of your favourite essential oil into the flour, mix it well and keep your ‘dry shampoo’ in a glass container with a lid.

Try it and give your hair a break from washing it every day. And remember, the more you wash your hair, the greasier it gets!
